Visiting Angels Northern Ireland is set to launch in February, offering a home care model that prioritises personalised, relationship-driven support over rigid time slots. The Belfast-based provider aims to address rising demand from families seeking flexible, reliable care for elderly relatives.

Led by healthcare professional Upender Singh and financial specialist Parvesh Gahlawat, Visiting Angels Northern Ireland will provide in-home care and companionship services built around dignity, choice, and continuity.

Recent figures indicate that the population aged over 85 in Northern Ireland has grown by almost 25% over the past decade, placing pressure on traditional care models and leaving families frustrated with short, fragmented visits.

Upender Singh explained the ethos behind the service: “I’ve always known I wanted to do something that genuinely helps people. Throughout my career, what’s mattered most to me is making people feel safe, respected and listened to, especially during more vulnerable stages of life.”

“With Visiting Angels, we want families to feel confident that their loved ones are receiving care that’s built around them as people, not rushed visits or rigid schedules. That human connection is at the heart of everything we do,” he added.

The franchise model launched in the UK in 2017 under Dan Archer, a strong advocate for high-quality home care. Visiting Angels Northern Ireland adopts a ‘carer-centric’ approach, emphasising fair pay, professional development, and long-term career pathways for care staff. The company plans to open five additional offices across Northern Ireland in the coming years to scale its relationship-led service model.

This launch positions Visiting Angels as a flexible, high-quality alternative for families navigating an increasingly strained home care sector.
