India's largest standalone health insurer has entered a three-year technology partnership to deploy artificial intelligence-led claims intelligence and healthcare analytics across its health insurance operations.

According to a report by PR Newswire, Star Health and Allied Insurance has partnered with Amplify Health, a pan-Asian health technology and analytics company with deployments across 10 Asian markets, to strengthen claims governance, improve fraud detection, and enhance the cashless claims experience for customers across network hospitals. The partnership forms part of Star Health's broader investment in digital health infrastructure spanning artificial intelligence, machine learning, and predictive analytics.

A key focus of the collaboration is improving customer experience at critical stages of the healthcare journey, including hospital admission, pre-authorisation, and discharge. The integration of Amplify Health's AI-powered platform into Star Health's cashless claims operations is designed to improve claim decisioning timelines, reduce customer waiting times, and deliver quicker pre-authorisation decisions and faster clarity on claim status.

The platform will also be used to identify patterns linked to fraud, waste, and abuse across Star Health's digitised cashless claims operations, deploying machine learning, clinical expertise, and generative AI capabilities to detect irregular billing, duplicate claims, and unusual utilisation trends. With medical cost inflation across Asia exceeding 10% annually, health insurers are under increasing pressure to adopt more rigorous, data-led approaches to claims governance.
