St. Vincent's Private Hospital has become the first hospital in Ireland to install the Siemens Healthineers LUMINOS Q.namix R fluoroscopy system, delivered as part of the 10-year, €40 million Value Partnership between the two organisations announced in September 2024. The LUMINOS installation represents the first major equipment deployment under that structured agreement.
St. Vincent's Private Hospital (SVPH) is Dublin's largest acute private hospital, part of St. Vincent's Healthcare Group, which serves 470,000 patients annually across SVPH, St. Vincent's University Hospital and St. Michael's Hospital, Dun Laoghaire. SVPH is one of the few Irish hospitals offering radiotherapy, immunotherapy, surgery and chemotherapy in one location.
The 10-year Value Partnership covers the provision, maintenance and replacement of more than 50 radiology and cardiology assets through a phased equipment cycle, including advanced AI technology, facility redesign and workforce development. Siemens Healthineers (ETR: SHL) is an Erlangen-headquartered global medical technology company with FY2025 revenue of €23.6 billion.
The structural driver is imaging demand growth outpacing the capacity of episodic capital procurement. Fluoroscopy procedures, gastrointestinal studies, orthopaedic imaging, urology, require continuous capital reinvestment as equipment ages and throughput increases, creating a predictable but lumpy capital burden for hospital finance teams.
The 10-year Value Partnership model, structured as a managed service arrangement rather than a capital purchase, smooths that burden across a decade while guaranteeing phased technology refresh and maintenance continuity. The LUMINOS Q.namix R's combined fluoroscopic and radiographic imaging on a single platform reduces room changeover time, repeat imaging rates and radiation dose exposure.
The "first in Ireland" positioning is commercially significant for Siemens Healthineers beyond the individual installation. It establishes the LUMINOS Q.namix R's Irish reference site at the country's highest-profile private hospital, providing the clinical evidence base that Irish hospital procurement committees require before specifying new imaging platforms.
For the sector, the SVPH-Siemens Value Partnership is the most advanced managed services arrangement yet implemented in Irish private healthcare imaging, and its performance will determine whether comparable long-term structured procurement agreements become the standard model for imaging capital in Irish hospitals over the next decade.
