Sheridan Capital Partners has completed its investment in ICANotes, a US-based electronic health record (EHR) and practice management platform purpose-built for behavioral health providers.

ICANotes, founded in 1999 and headquartered in Baltimore, Maryland, serves psychiatrists, therapists, counselors, social workers, and nurse practitioners. Its AI-enhanced, cloud-based system streamlines clinical documentation, strengthens regulatory compliance, and simplifies practice management.

The platform supports organizations across outpatient, inpatient, and residential settings, including medication management, psychotherapy, substance use disorder treatment, trauma-focused care, couples and family therapy, case management, and psychosocial rehabilitation.

Jamie Morganstern, CEO of ICANotes, said the partnership was selected after identifying Sheridan as a capital partner with aligned culture and experience in healthcare technology. He added, “We are excited to partner with Sheridan as we continue to invest in our core PM and EHR solutions, while expanding platform capabilities to drive greater efficiency for our clinician customers.”

Jeff Foote, Partner at Sheridan, described ICANotes as “an outstanding business that has earned the trust of a wide variety of behavioral health providers by enabling management of an entire practice with one secure system.” He added, “We are proud to partner with the ICANotes team to build on that success and we look forward to collaborating with Jamie and his team to expand the platform’s capabilities and reach more providers nationwide.”

Sheridan Capital Partners specialises in healthcare-focused investments across technology, outsourced services, products, and providers, with operational expertise aimed at accelerating growth and building long-term value.

ICANotes combines a chart-centric workflow with configurable templates, billing, and revenue cycle tools to support scalable care delivery. The business continues to be led by the second generation of the founding Morganstern family.
