Kingsbridge Private Hospital Belfast (€15.5 million) and Aut Even Hospital Kilkenny (€13.7 million). Kingsbridge Healthcare Group is Northern Ireland's largest private healthcare provider, founded in 2004, employing more than 1,100 staff across four hospitals and 11 clinics in Belfast, Derry and Sligo, with reported turnover of £137.4 million ahead of a £300 million Exponent investment in August 2024. The €36.5 million NTPF payment, down from €43.5 million in 2024, represents approximately 19% of the group's reported turnover.

The structural driver is the Republic's persistent public waiting list problem. Orthopaedics was the largest expenditure category at €63.9 million, reflecting the longest and most intractable waiting lists in the Irish public system. The cross-border element reflects geography: Kingsbridge's North West campus at Limavady serves catchments in Donegal, Tyrone and Derry that are closer to Northern Irish private capacity than to Dublin.

The Beaumont Hospital collapse from €6.8 million to €183,000 in 2025, following the suspension of funding after incorrect billing for routine public clinic patients, is the governance footnote that matters most: it demonstrates the NTPF has the enforcement appetite to withdraw funding where billing standards are not met, a signal for all private hospital operators pricing their NTPF relationships.

For the private healthcare sector, the NTPF payment schedule is the most transparent public data point on the relative commercial value of state-commissioned capacity across the Irish market, and Kingsbridge's position as the second-largest single-group recipient reinforces the strategic logic of Exponent's cross-border hospital investment thesis.
