Duality Healthcare, a private GP and urgent care provider originally established as a single clinic in Newry in 2017, has opened a new headquarters in Belfast as its staff numbers pass 100.

The company has been in expansion mode since 2023 under co-founders Dr Declan Morgan and John McEvoy, and now operates clinics in Newry, Derry, Ballymena, Omagh and Belfast. The new Belfast office occupies a 2,500 sq ft space at the recently refurbished Weavers Court building near Grand Central Station, doubling the size of its previous Belfast hub.

Duality Healthcare is ultimately owned by Dr Morgan, according to filings held by Companies House, which lists separate registered entities for each clinic location under the group's structure.

"Duality Healthcare has grown significantly this year, both in terms of increasing the services we provide and the size of our team and clinical network, so moving into a new, larger space for our headquarters is another important milestone," said John McEvoy, chief executive of Duality Healthcare.

"We have ambitious plans to continue growing the business, and that will mean even further expansion of our team so the new office provides the capacity to continue growing," McEvoy added. "We also know that achieving our ambitions depends on having great people and we want Duality to be a place where talented people want to come to work, where they feel valued and supported, and where they have the opportunity to develop their careers."

The structural driver behind the expansion is continued demand across Northern Ireland for private GP access positioned as an alternative to public waiting times, with the group having previously described its clinic rollout as a multimillion pound investment programme spanning five locations within three years.

For the sector, Duality's headquarters expansion confirms that Northern Ireland's private primary care operators are scaling corporate infrastructure alongside clinical footprint as patient volumes grow.
