Blackrock Health opens Ireland’s most comprehensive womens health centre

Blackrock Health has officially opened the Blackrock Health Womens Health Centre in Dublin, marking a €16 million investment in Ireland’s private, consultant-led women’s healthcare. The centre is designed to deliver truly holistic and integrated services, addressing the unique and interconnected needs of women across all stages of life.

Staffed by a team of 28 consultants, four women’s medicine specialists, and 30 allied healthcare professionals, the centre provides unparalleled access to expert care under one roof. 

Professor Donal Brennan, Clinical Director and Gynaecological Oncologist, leads the multidisciplinary team, which includes Dr. Gerry Agnew, Clinical Lead Urogynaecology, Dr. Caoimhe Hartley, Clinical Lead Women’s Medicine, and Prof Kirk Levins, Pain Medicine.

The centre’s integrated approach ensures diagnostics and treatments across multiple disease areas are coordinated, enabling patients to receive comprehensive care tailored to complex, co-existing health concerns. Specialist services cover gynaecology, urology, breast health, endocrinology, gastroenterology, pain medicine, cardiology, dermatology, psychology, health screening, and rheumatology. Nursing and allied health offerings include physiotherapy, urodynamics, phlebotomy, and radiology diagnostics such as DXA scanning, mammography, and ultrasound.

Dr. Caoimhe Hartley added that the collaborative model allows the centre to address the interconnected nature of women’s health needs effectively, offering a new benchmark for integrated care in Ireland.

The launch aligns with the Women’s Health Action Plan 2024–2025, closing service gaps and enabling women to take greater control of their healthcare. Healthlink referrals are welcome for the full range of services offered.
