Apollo Home Healthcare secures private equity investment from Sovereign Capital

Apollo Home Healthcare, a UK provider of complex healthcare-at-home services across the Midlands, North, East and South East of England, has secured investment from private equity firm Sovereign Capital Partners to support geographic expansion and selective acquisitions. Founded in 2014, the company delivers bespoke, high-acuity care focused on children and adults with complex clinical needs, employing more than 1,000 healthcare assistants and approximately 150 clinical and registered nurses.

Insidermedia reported that Sovereign's investment will support Apollo's geographic expansion and investment in people, technology and client experience. The company operates a hub model supported by a central office in Wolverhampton.

Laura Walker, managing director of Apollo Home Healthcare, said: "This is an important milestone for Apollo Home Healthcare. Since 2014, we've built a specialist complex care business focused on delivering safe, high-quality care to people with the most complex clinical needs. Walker added that Sovereign's experience in healthcare and collaborative approach to working with management teams provides the right support to grow responsibly and sustainably. She noted the investment allows the company to strengthen infrastructure, invest in people and technology, and ultimately support more vulnerable individuals to live safely at home with the care they deserve.

The leadership team comprises Walker and operations director Michelle Flynn, both of whom have been with Apollo since its founding, bringing more than a decade of institutional knowledge and expertise. Founder Phil Burrows transitions to an advisory and non-executive role, whilst Michael Kerins has been appointed as executive chair, bringing extensive senior leadership experience including more than 30 years with Cromwell where he rose to group chief executive.
