AI and digital health take centre stage in Ireland’s innovation push

AI has emerged as the top priority for digital health leaders in Ireland, with 65% naming it their primary focus, according to new research unveiled at Ibec’s ‘Where Digital Health Thrives’ forum. The findings highlight the sector’s rapid evolution, with 83% of respondents underscoring the critical importance of healthcare digitalisation — from connected devices to digital therapeutics.

Cybersecurity, investment, and strategy surfaced as other major themes, as leaders seek to future-proof operations and seize a share of the €426 billion global digital health market. With nearly 200 companies already active in this space, Ireland is positioning itself as a launchpad for scalable digital health solutions. But to maintain momentum, coordinated cross-sector input and policy alignment are essential.
